Paul Camper

Paul M. Camper, Ph.D. is a Clinical Psychologist and Organization Development practitioner with over a decade of experience providing broad-based consultation and training services to both commercial and public-sector businesses and organizations. During his consulting career, Paul has provided numerous interventions to successfully address client organizational concerns, including: organizational assessment, diagnosis, and planning; strategic business and succession planning; leadership development program design, implementation, and evaluation; and executive and managerial coaching and performance improvement services.

A former business executive with national health care management companies, Paul brings a working knowledge of business practices, imperatives, and organizational environments to his consulting activities. His integrative professional background enables Paul to incorporate all three essential ingredients of business and organizational success – business strategy, organizational structure, and corporate culture – in the assessment of client problems and the development of client solutions. Through his strategic business planning activities, Paul helps clients comprehensively address all major strategy-related business functions -- employing the strategic planning process as a vehicle for communication enhancement, team building, and corporate values clarification within the client organization. Paul’s executive coaching services help businesses and organizations enhance the managerial performance of valued executives and managers via the application of a mix of psychological expertise, in-depth understanding of the leadership development field, and intensive one-on-one coaching activities.

Paul’s consulting clients include companies such as Eli Lilly & Co., Amoco Oil Co. (Chicago and Kuantan, Malaysia), US Airways, and Vulcan Materials; government agencies such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB); and non-governmental/non-profit organizations such as The World Bank (Washington, DC) and Family Health International (Raleigh, NC). He is a faculty member of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s FNS University – providing leadership assessment, teaching, and developmental coaching services to participants in the USDA’s year-long Leadership Institute. International consulting assignments include Rockwell Automation (Beijing, China), First Hospital of China Medical University (Shenyang, China), and the Singapore Institute of Management.

Paul holds a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Washington, a M.S. in Organization Development from the Pepperdine University School of Business and Management, and a B.A. in Psychology from Stanford University. He is a licensed Clinical Psychologist and has held appointment as a Clinical Fellow in the Department of Psychiatry of the Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School. Paul has completed leadership development studies at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, N.C., and holds certifications in several major leadership assessment instruments (including Benchmarks® and Career Architect®).
