Liliana Hudescu

Liliana is a business professional with over eighteen years of experience in manufacturing, service, government and non –profit organizations. Her work has been conducted in the United States, Canada, and Europe. She is fluent in English, French and Romanian.

Liliana is an advisor for the Institute for Change, Washington, DC, USA The Institute sprang from a successful leadership development program of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) that began in 2002. The Institute faculty works to help the leaders of progressive organizations develop the skills and knowledge they need in order to drive change in their organizations.

Initially her career was focused on helping executives develop strategies and operational approaches to improve business results and implement those changes. She has an impressive track record of documented improvements in operations, service levels, and business performance. To do this work she uses a variety of methods and tools including Six Sigma, process improvement, focused strategic planning, and performance management systems.

Equipped with additional organization development and change management experience, Liliana effectively engages and coaches people at all organizational levels. She gains ownership and commitment by involving those that do the work in the strategic change processes. Her practice also expanded to identify individual behavior changes necessary to achieve and maintain business results, and coaching individuals to accomplish these modifications.

Before becoming an external consultant in strategic management and critical business behavior, Liliana was an internal change agent / consultant for Air Canada. In this role she guided senior management and union partners through the development of self-directed work teams. She provided extensive individual and team coaching and training to align strategic objectives, business unit activities, and key performance indicators.

In addition, Liliana was part of the airline’s core Six Sigma team, responsible for implementing Six Sigma improvement processes within the Technical Services company of Air Canada. As a Black Belt she facilitated Kaizen workout sessions and taught, coached and mentored Green Belts working on manufacturing, administrative, engineering, purchasing, service, finance, and information technology projects. As a result of these efforts, the company increased revenues, reduced costs, streamlined processes, and stimulated new business.

In a prior position as head of market research, Liliana focused on enhancing decision-making processes at the senior and executive level. Her work included recommending strategic actions to improve market share, profitability, brand recognition, and national/international customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Liliana holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA from Concordia University’s Molson School of Business, in Montreal. She received organization development and change management training from Core-R.O.I. and Six Sigma (Black Belt) training from General Electric in Ohio.

She has recently been invited by BABES-BOLYAI University, Cluj, Romania to complete her PhD and eventually teach on the Faculty of Economic Science and Business Management.

Liliana lives with her husband and their son in Savannah, Georgia.
