Core-R.O.I. worked for several years with Generation and Distribution Business Units to increase the levels of involvement of union employees in problem-solving and decision-making to implement cost saving changes. We trained over 50 union and exempt employees to facilitate joint problem-solving groups. Joint leadership groups were established in each of the company's power plants and distribution-related divisions. We also helped develop materials for the first of several Business Literacy training sessions and trained 20 employees to deliver that training. The annual cost savings from these efforts have exceeded a million dollars.
Core-R.O.I. Inc. also facilitated several special project groups dealing with multi-skilling issues, restructuring of the cooperative process and developing an annual business plan. We provided coaching support to the leadership of both the union and the company and several managers throughout the company.
